Child armchair Renovation Project.

I purchased two children armchairs from Ebay, to be used as a prop for my daughters children collection. The buyer explained that it had been in her family for over 60 years and fortunately for me, the she had started the renovation, so no striping and standing for me, OK just a little.
To complete the makeover of the chair I sanded down the chair and then washed it with a diluted solution of bleach to lighten the wood,
Next I rubbed finishing oil over the wood to seal and protect the chair and to bring out the natural colour of the wood
As you can see from the top picture there is no seat, so I needed to cut a piece of plywood to fit the seat of the chair to form a firm base to place a cushion seat on.
To make the box cushion seat, I bought an ordinary large cushion pad, which was the perfect size for the chair and made the casing out of white drill. After placing the cushion into the casing,  I stuffed the edges to give the cushion a full square look.
Here you can see the completed chair with props in place.

I think the chair is adorable
The cushions are available on my daughters shop on csevenm, once she is happy with the photos you will be able to see the chair in its full glory.

Charity Fashion Show Update

Last Wednesday I attended the Crown Street Charity Fashion Show at the De Rougemont Manor for Children cancer.   The event was inspired by a young lads, who was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 2, he is now five.

For me the highlight of the evening was a moving account of the young lads fight with cancer, related by his father, it certainly bought home the frailty of
life. and the strength of the individual..
